Facebook began as a rip-off of Hot or Not, then Zuckerberg stole the idea of the Winklevoss twins, stole the name of Facebook from Harvard and ripped off MySpace.
Of course there was a big difference between MySpace and Facebook, Facebook lied. Facebook gave the appearance of privacy while stealing information and selling it. It was built on theft and it continued with theft.
Stealing our souls, our most private thoughts and relationships was very lucrative. Facebook Zuckerberg did not know this, but when Sheryl Sandberg arrived, who knew a thing or two about stealing personal information. With her help, Facebook began to sell that personal information and that’s when it really started making big money.
With big money last shreds of originality left Facebook along with the engineers who had any self respect and creativity. Original companies use revenue to build on originality, thieves use revenues to finance larger thefts. There is no need for originality, when you can buy it, and buy it did. Among most notable buys, were Oculus Rift, WhatsAp, Instagram. Any company with a shred of originality that was willing to sell out its technology, and more importantly, its users.
Once Facebook acquired a new company, it would suck the new users dry of their information and send its armies of Psychology PhD’s to steal free will, creating millions of addicted drones who couldn’t open a browser without typing in “Facebook”. Of course sometimes companies wouldn’t sell out. But the great thing about having armies of capable engineering thieves; if it couldn’t buy i, it would simply copy, like Reels to compete with Tick Tock, or Messenger before it purchased WhatsAp or Marketplace to compete with Craig’s List.
Companies that steal are companies without a moral compass. Facebook is a company that steals and lies. It spends billions of dollars on crypto and metaverse and 3D with armies of engineers to develop technology that steal our personal data. At the same time they have been while lying to the public about the effects of Facebook. They claimed to be working on making Facebook safer while purposely under manning the departments to stop damage, starving departments tasked with making Facebook have less hate of resources, actively damaging democracies, society, families and children.
Meta means death in Hebrew. Meta is a company that knowingly steals and sells the knowledge of our most personal information, a company that enables genocidal regimes, a company that causes teenagers to take their lives. Meta is a company that for once made an original move, and called itself what it is: thieves of our time, our lives, our free will and originality.
